Casas Ibáñez will host next Friday, in its Switzerland Phone Numbers 6 Million List Municipal Theater, the VI Provincial Meeting of youth reading clubs in the province, which will be attended by some 200 participants from Albacete, Caudete, Mahora, Tarazona, Hellín and Casas Ibáñez, within the Lectibe program.
This meeting was presented today by the provincial deputy for Culture, Alberto González, the mayor of Casas Ibáñez, Carmen Navalón and the provincial delegate for Education, Diego Pérez.
The provincial deputy for Culture recalled the origins of this project that started six years ago as a European project: Erasmus, Comenius Regio with Portugal, and that due to its great acceptance has been consolidated in the cultural agenda of the province with more than 700 attendees in past editions.
González explained that Lectibe (Iberian Readers) arose with the idea of promoting and creating reading habits among young people, integrating them into reading clubs and making use of electronic books and ICT, which is why - he said - it has evolved over the years. of time from the first copies read on ereaders, through tablets and phones and currently through the option: "E-biblio", a virtual library where you can borrow books, just like in a physical library.
The budget allocated by the Provincial Council to activities to promote reading amounts to 5,000 euros, which covers events such as the celebration of the Lectibe program, meetings with authors, workshops, storytellers, books and the maintenance of the page www.lectibe. .eu , which is the support of the program.
The Culture Deputy reported that for this edition the selected writer who will attend the VI Provincial Meeting of Youth Reading Clubs is the writer Eloy Moreno with his new novel: "Invisible."
For her part, the mayor of Casas Ibáñez, reported that the VI Meeting of Reading Clubs also includes a series of complementary activities for participants such as an open-air gynkana, a visit to the town or attendance at a comedy show. Magic.

"Casas Ibáñez - Navalón added - has thirteen reading clubs with 137 members, a 53-year-old library with 26,000 collections and more than 5,000 visits last year and 1,700 users."
Finally, the Education delegate, Diego Pérez, stressed the importance of the youth reading clubs in the province with a total of 33 clubs and 600 readers and the importance of collaboration and coordination of institutions in reading promotion programs.
In this sense, he referred to the "Reading on the Road" project, which serves 25 small municipalities in the province with thirteen routes serving a population of 8,500 inhabitants, and to a recent project that has been underway for a year: "Virtual Reading Club », which is a meeting space for readers on the Internet with three clubs operating: «Alonso Quijano», dedicated to classic authors, «Letras Rojas», for genre novels and «Leolo, tamer of words», for young people.
